Tommy: Possible changes coming to Jefferson Parish schools

If you are ANY kind of decent parent, you are intensely concerned with the education your child receives. That can include the location of the school, the teachers, the students they interact with, classroom size and more. Those are the concerns of the parents of some two thousand students who are facing changes in the Jefferson Parish school system.

The system is looking at a sixteen million dollar gap and had to seriously figure out ways to balance the budget while still providing the best education possible to the students in the system. There’s an adage "Necessity is the mother of invention."  That could be what’s happening here with the adjustments to elementary and middle school education in Jefferson Parish.

Jefferson Parish Superintendent Cade Brumley spent some time with us explaining how the system would be altered. Have a listen and decide if you think the new plans will both save money and provide a more effective and production education for the students involved:
