The NFL announced the 32 nominees for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. It is considered one of the league's most prestigious honors, as it recognizes a player for outstanding community service activities off the field, as well as excellence on the field. Left tackle Terron Armstead has been named the Saints 2019 Man of the Year.

“The National Football League has provided me with many great opportunities,” Armstead said in a statement. “The greatest may be the ability to be an inspiration, role model and a resource for others. Given this platform, I plan to be impactful and touch as many lives as I can.”

Armstead will wear a ‘Man of the Year' helmet decal beginning Monday night against the Indianapolis Colts and throughout the remainder of the season in recognition of his efforts on and off the field. All 32 nominees receive a donation of up to $50,000 in their name to their charity of choice. The winner of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award will receive a $250,000 donation to the charity of their choice. That will be announced during the NFL Honors show on February 1st.
