The Buccaneers pirate ship comes to port with those scallywags from Tampa Bay eyeing the top spot in the NFC South.  A win in the Superdome on Sunday would put the 2-2 Bucs in first place in the division and their previous 2 victories on the year have come on the road.

One big notable difference under new head coach Bruce Arians has been the improved play of quarterback Jameis Winston.  He looked like the same ole Jameis in week one throwing 3 interceptions in a loss to the 49ers, but since then has tossed 8 TDs with just 2 INTS while getting wins up in the Panthers and Rams house.

6ft5, 231 pound wide receiver Mike Evans has 18 catches for 368 yards and 4 touchdowns on the year, and will be matched-up against Saints top corner Marshon Lattimore.  The two have a scintillating history with one another.

In Lattimore’s rookie season, he owned Evans giving up just 6 receptions on 19 targets for 68 yards and zero TDs. Evans did manage to score a 1 game suspension after taking a cheap shot on Lattimore when he had his back turned.

Then last season, Evans got the better of Lattimore. Week one in the Superdome, the 2017 defensive rookie of the year was toasted for 147 yards and a touchdown as Evans made all 7 catches thrown his way.  That was with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center, in the 2nd meeting Lattimore held Evans out the end zone but did allow 4 receptions for 86 yards.

Who will have the upper-hand in the 3rd season of this rivalry?

“Man, he’s just the next player I’ve got to play against,” said Lattimore. “So, I mean that’s it. It ‘aint nothing special.  Just the next player I’ve got to play against.  That’s how I’m going to look at it and it is what it is.”
