After visiting with 25 year old defensive end Mario Edwards, the Saints have signed him to a 2 year, $5 million deal.  He played with the Giants last season after being drafted by the Raiders in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Edwards is 6ft3, 280 lb. and has racked up 7.5 sacks with 10 tackles for loss and 20 QB hits in the 45 career games he has appeared in.

New Orleans had a hole to fill at DE after Alex Okafor inked a deal with the K.C. Chiefs.  Edwards joins a position group that consists of All-Pro Cameron Jordan, Marcus Davenport who is entering his sophomore season and 2017 3rd round pick Trey Hendrickson.
