Some more unfortunate news for the Saints as Alex Anzalone has been placed on injured reserve. The linebacker suffered a shoulder injury back in the first preseason game and played just 18 defensive snaps in the loss to the LA Rams.  He has dealt with a number of injuries throughout his football career dating back to his days at Florida. The 24-year old was a 3rd round pick in 2017 and managed to play all 16 games a year ago.

Look for Kiko Alonso to take on a bulk of the snaps for Analzone. Alonso was acquired in a trade that sent Vince Biegel to Miami right after roster were trimmed down to 53 players.  In three years with the Dolphins, Alonso started 46 games, recording 354 tackles with 14 for loss, 14 quarterback hits, 1 sack, 5 interceptions with a touchdown, 11 passes defensed, 6 forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
