Saints rookies reported for training camp today and the team has put WR Emmanuel Butler on the non-football injury list while DE Carl Granderson was placed on the reserve/did not report list.

Butler is a big, long receiver who racked up 187 career receptions at Northern Arizona, totaling 3,222 yards and 33 touchdowns. His sophomore season was his best, making 64 catches for 1,208 yards and 15 touchdowns. Butler would follow that up with 69 grabs for 1,003 yards and 9 TDs  as a junior, but then missed most of the 2017 season with a shoulder injury.  He received a medical redshirt and played in 9 games last season making 35 receptions for 676 yards and 7 scores.

Granderson won't be playing in the NFL anytime soon. He was recently sentenced to jail following sexual misconduct charges. The former Wyoming star pleaded no contest to one count of sexual battery and one count of unlawful contact after being accused of “unwanted sexual contact” by two women sleeping at his apartment last November.

He eanred All-Mountain West Conference player honors twice and was expected to be selected in the draft before he getting charged back in February. If  Granderson serves his full sentence, it would not be over until after the 2019 regular season.
