The Saints added a tight end Wednesday claiming 26 year old Erik Swoope off waivers from the Colts.  He was an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in 2014.  Swoope is 6ft4, 255 pounds and had been on and off Indy's practice squad.  He has played in 7 games this season and has caught 8 passes for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns.

"Apparently has battled knee injuries and looks to be healthy," said WWL Saints color analyst Deuce McAllister, "and so the saints adding another possible weapon to that tight end room, pass receiving individual in Erik Swoope."

In a corresponding move, the Saints waived WR Brandon Marshall.

"He was never active for the Saints in an actual game," said Deuce. "They felt like they could use that position with the tight end."

Marshall was signed last month but never made it to the active roster.  The 34-year-old was let go by the Seattle Seahawks after appearing in six games this season.
