Marshon Lattimore remains out of Saints practice

A hamstring issue that sidelined Saints corner Marshon Lattimore this past week continued to hold him out of practice as the team begins their game prep for 5-5 Carolina.

Also, not taking part in Wednesday’s session were fullback Zack Line (knee), return specialist / wide receiver Deonte Harris (hamstring) and guard Andrus Peat (forearm). Harris and Peat also did not play in this past game against the Buccaneers. Peat reportedly suffered a break in week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals and could return for the postseason.

There were four limited participants, tackle Ryan Ramczyk (knee), guard Larry Warford (thigh), tight end Josh Hill (concussion) and receiver Austin Carr (ankle). Hill was knocked out in the 3rd quarter last week after catching a five yard pass. Coach Payton praised him postgame saying not having Hill’s blocking ability was “like not having your front door”.

The Black & Gold also signed linebacker Andrew Dowell to the practice squad and released defensive back Trae Elston. Dowell is an undrafted rookie out of Michigan State who spent time in Dallas. He was waived off the Cowboys' injured reserve with an injury settlement in August, but seems like he is recovered from a hamstring injury. Dowell made 97 tackles, nine tackles for loss, nine pass breakups and 3.5 sacks his last year in college, but has not yet seen any NFL action.

Over on the Panthers side:

CB Ross Cockrell (quadriceps) did not practice

DT Gerald McCoy (knee) did not practice

T Dennis Daley (groin) limited

S Eric Reid (knee) limited

LB Shaq Thompson (ankle) limited

LB/DE Brian Burns (wrist) full
