The Saints held an evening indoor practice session today following yesterday’s preseason game against the Cardinals.  Two things really stood out as the team heavily focused on special teams, including onside kicks.

Michael Thomas pulled off an amazing ESPN worthy top 10 highlight….but cameras were not permitted to be rolling at that point of the practice, so NOONE has the footage!  Words will not do the grab justice but “Can’t Guard Mike pulled off a spinning one-handed reception down the left sideline. That’s right, while he was spinning, Thomas simply stuck out his right paw and easily made the catch as if it were routine.  Jaw dropping athleticism.

The other main highlight was after practice Sean Payton saying 1st round draft pick Marcus Davenport may in fact play in preseason game #3.

"I anticipate him being able to work this week and get some playing time," said Coach.

Davenport took part in some individual drills as we haven’t seen the 14th overall pick in over 2 weeks since walking off the practice field with a groin injury. The Saints final practice of training camp is Sunday. Then the team will fly out West to take part in joint practices with the LA Chargers on Wednesday.  If Davenport doesn’t suffer any setbacks, fans cold finally see him in action Saturday night!
