Before joining the Saints in free agency, Latavius Murray had spent the last two years in Minneapolis on the other side of the Black & Gold’s “rivalry” against the Vikings. He had 67 total yards with a TD for Minnesota in the 2018 NFC Divisional Playoff which ended with Stefon Diggs unfathomable catch and run for the game winning score.

Murray was allowed to hit the open market and the Saints moved in quickly since they had a hole to fill after negotiations soured with Mark Ingram’s agent.

“It definitely fuels me and I definitely look forward to it,” Murray said about playing his old team. “What’s better than beating your friends and people you know?  Nothing better than that. No different from playing a video game. We play; we play to win, no matter who it is.”

The 29 year old played a major part to the Saints continued winning ways while Alvin Kamara was hurt. Murray scored 4 touchdowns in 2 games, including his 1st career receiving TD in 6 years of service in the NFL. He would love to bust a big day for the Black & Gold to sink the Vikings ship in the playoffs.

“Don’t get me wrong that’s a great organization. They have a great group of guys in their locker room. But, I’m here for a reason. This is my family here in New Orleans. Minnesota; they gonna get every bit of us this come Sunday.”
