The Pelicans open the regular season on Wednesday and announced today that they have acquired forward Wesley Johnson from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for center Alexis Ajinca.

Johnson adds some rotational depth for New Orleans.  He appeared in 74 games for the Clippers last season, averaging 5 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steals in 20 minutes per contest. He was the fourth overall by Minnesota in 2010, and has appeared in 571 career regular season games with the Timberwolves Minnesota, Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, posting averages of 7 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.

Ajinca originally signed with the Pels as an unrestricted in 2013. In 222 regular season games the center averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds.
