Head coach Sean Payton said that he thought Sunday night’s practice at Tulane was the best Saints session of camp and that the team put together another solid day of work Monday.  Going through the roster, 10 players were not seen at today’s workout:

WR Keith Kirkwood

TE Alize Mack

G/T Andrus Peat

P Thomas Morstead

FB Michael Burton

RB Matthew Dayes

TE Garrett Griffin

OL Ethan Greenidge

DE Wes Horton

S TJ Green

Wide receiver Emmanuel Butler was back after missing a few day, but just observed from the sidelines. Defensive tackle David Onyemata and WR/RS Deonte Harris were also back and took part in stretching and conditioning, but didn’t go through any drills with the team.

Day off for Brees means….TEDDY TIME

It looked like Drew Brees was given a veterans days off, no reason to panic Who Dats.  #9 was dressed and present, he just did not take part in any of the drills.  That meant it was Teddy time! Bridgewater got a chance to work with the 1st team offense and looked sharp.  The big play of the day was a deep ball to a wide open Jared Cook, who easily galloped into the endzone. The biggest question is how the 6ft5, 254 pound tight end went uncovered. Obviously, the defense must have had a busted coverage

Saquan looking special

6th round draft pick Saquan Hampton has been a consistent camp standout the last few days.  He had an impressive leaping interception on Saturday, was the culprit behind Drew Brees’ 1st INT of camp Sunday night at Tulane and made another great play on a ball Monday that was nearly picked off. The safety’s timing was terrific and was able to knock the ball away before the wide receiver has a chance to haul it in.  Coach Payton commented on the rookie from Rutgers, “He has good hands. He is one of those players the ball finds. I’ve been encouraged. He’s smart.”
