Wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. remains on injured reserve but could be designated to return very soon. Saints head coach Sean Payton acknowledged the speedy 33 year old is doing well recovering from an arthroscopic procedure on his knee he underwent back in October.

“We feel like Ted’s close to coming back,” said Payton.

It would be a welcome addition to the wide receiver room since other than Michael Thomas, production has been inconsistent.  Rookies Tre’Quan Smith and Keith Kirwood along with 2nd year pro Austin Carr have all had their moments, but they’ve also had games with zero catches.

Ginn hauled in 12 passes for 135 yards and score in four games this year before going on IR. Last season he caught a career best 76% of passes thrown his way.
