ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit says Joe Burrow reminds him of a young Tom Brady

LSU and Clemson will finally arrive in New Orleans Friday ahead of the College Football National Championship inside the Mercedes Benz Superdome on Monday January 13th.  The quarterback matchup deserves all the hype it’s been getting with Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence set to duke it out.  Burrow’s amazing season earned him Heisman Trophy honors and ESPN’s college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit compares him to a former Michigan QB.

“I hate to put this on him, but the way he's executing and because I covered Tom Brady; I’m not saying Tom Brady as a Patriot, Tom Brady in college,” explained Herbstreit.  “He didn't have the athletic ability, but he had the quick mind.  The way he was able to get the football out.”

Hearing that will make Saints fans salivate even more about the thought of Burrow continuing his career in Louisiana.  But, the Cincinnati Bengals own the top overall pick and convincing them to pass up on the kid out of Ohio is going to be a hard sell.

“Joe is much bigger and longer than I think people realize, until you get up close to him and shake his hand and realize how physical he is.  So, I think his brain, ability to process, his accuracy, and his leadership intangibles, remind me of a young Tom Brady.”
