Saints practice: Offense back on top

For most of training camp the Saints defense was the center of attention for their play against the Saints offense. "That's typical of the first week or so of camp the defense is typically ahead of the offense.  But that wasn't the case today.  The offense had their best day of camp I thought," said the Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert said.

Running back Jonahan Williams is moving up the depth chart.

"He had a really good day, he's the leader in the club house after Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara.  He's making plays out of the backfield and doing a good job with blitz pick up," explained Saints all time leading rusher Deuce McAllister.

I had a chance to talk to Williams after practice, and he said he actually had a chance to join the Atlanta Falcons active roster last season, but decided to sign with the Saints on the practice squad.  Williams made the decision based on his connection with RB Coach Joel Thomas going back to when both were at Arkansas together.
