As he continues to rehab his surgically repaired thumb, Saints quarterback Drew Brees says, three games into his return to the field, he feels completely normal tossing around the pigskin.

"I feel good. I feel like I can make every throw," Brees said. "Each week it's like a race to get your body and your mind and everything ready to play the next game, to step up to the next challenge, to play the next opponent. That's something everybody deals with on a weekly basis. But as far as my thumb goes and everything else, I feel good."

As for this week's opponent, much like everyone who has seen the Panthers play, Brees has a ton of respect for Carolina running back Christian McCaffrey.

"Just look at the productivity," Brees said. "It's through the roof, both in the run game and the pass game. Obviously them being a divisional opponent, they play a lot of the same teams so you see a lot of the film. So you appreciate the little things, all the attention to detail."

Brees and the Saints host the Carolina Panthers Sunday at noon in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Kickoff is set for noon on WWL. Our coverage starts that morning at 8. You can hear the full audio of "QB To QB" by clicking the podcast link.
