Saints' Hardee: Black and Gold eager for Vikings matchup

"If you don't feel it... then you're not human."

You can say that the past is the past, and that triumphs and heartaches from football seasons past don't carry over to the new year. But after experiencing the sudden and dramatic loss in Minneapolis that ended their season in last year's playoffs, the Saints would be hard-pressed to not have an elevated pulse this week with the Vikings on the docket.

During his appearance on the Saints Players Show Thursday night on WWL Radio, Saints defensive back and special teams standout Justin Hardee tried to keep his comments tempered, but eventually found that he couldn't contain his, and perhaps the team's, true feelings.

"I'm coming," Hardee said of the matchup. "I know we're coming. I know we're hungry. We've still got that bitter taste in our mouth. We could say it's not a rivalry game but if you don't feel it some kind of way, then you're not human. It's THE GAME. It's the one I'm definitely looking forward to."

Hardee did state that getting too into their heads could be detrimental.

"You can't overthink it," Hardee said. "You've got to attack this game like you attack each one. Attack it like it's your last."

Hardee and the Saints will look to avenge their playoff loss at the hands of the Vikings this Sunday night in primetime. Kickoff is set for 7:20. Coverage on WWL starts that afternoon at 3pm.
