Saints CB Williams suspended two games

Saints defensive back P.J. Williams will serve a two-game suspension, effective immediately. The suspension stems from his DUI arrest during the offseason.

So where will the Black and Gold turn in his absence? According to Bobby Hebert, the Saints should be set up to weather a pair of games without him.

“We need Patrick Robinson to step up,” Hebert said on his Sports Talk program on WWL Radio Tuesday afternoon. “Didn’t we pay him the big bucks from the Eagles? The top nickel corner when the Eagles won the Super Bowl? Isn’t that why you have depth?”

“The reason Patrick Robinson wasn’t playing is because P.J. Williams was better,” Hebert continued. “So now you’ve got an opportunity to live up to what the Saints believed in you when they brought you on board.”

Williams will miss this week’s road trip to face the Chicago Bears and next week’s homestand against the Arizona Cardinals.
