LISTEN: Super Regional preview with LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri

LSU’s Super Regional showdown against Florida State swings into action on Saturday. The first team to get 2 wins earns a spot in the College World Series.  The Seminoles were 39-21 this season and 17-13 in the ACC. As a team FSU hit .275, averaging 7 runs per game, with 111 doubles, 13 triples, 79 home runs.

Tiger’s skipper Paul Mainieri team went 40-24 overall with a 17-13 in the SEC. LSU averaged 6.7 runs per game, batting .274 as a team with 98 doubles, 10 triples, and 63 home runs. Mainieri joined Sports Talk with Bobby and Zach to preview their best of 3 series against FSU.

“Here we are at the end, 2 wins away from getting to Omaha and that’s where we want to be,” said Mainieri. “Now we need to take advantage of it.”
