LISTEN: LSU's Paul Mainieri on importance of pitching

The college baseball regular season is coming to a close and LSU will host Auburn starting Thursday in a big SEC tiger vs Tiger series.  LSU is 15-12 in conference play, while Auburn is 13-14.  Coach Paul Mainieri previewed the match-up on Sports talk and stressed the importance of pitching.

"Confidence really grows based on your starting pitcher," said Mainieri. "If you've got a really good starting pitcher out there that can dominate a game, boy everyone plays so well behind him. Because they are playing loose, they don’t feel like every pitch, every at bat, every play is going to determine the outcome of a ballgame."
