LISTEN: Duke beat writer says Zion "will really take to the city" of New Orleans

When the Pelicans won the draft lottery, it seemed as if the sky was falling the way the national media dealt with the situation. There was talk of Zion Williamson going back to Duke to avoid being selected by New Orleans, but Zion's step dad squashed that notion this morning on 104.5 ESPN radio in Baton Rouge saying, "that is nothing that we even considered."

We wanted to find out a little more about Zion, and not just the player. Stephen Wiseman, who covers Duke and the ACC for The Herald Sun along with The News & Observer, joined Sports Talk with Kristian Garic to give us some insight on the person the Pels will likely be selecting on June 20th.

"He's not somebody who's going to force his way to do one thing or another," said Wiseman. "He'd say, ok they're going to draft me, I'm going to go there and play. And, I'm going to enjoy it. I think, from my time in working in that part of the country, he'll really take to the city. The city will really take to him too."
