Clapp, Saints getting "good rest" during bye week

This week marks the final time this season the Who Dat Nation has to suffer through a Saints-free weekend as the Black and Gold rest up on the bye week. Saints rookie center Will Clapp discussed what the team's coaching staff and veterans advised the first-year footballers regarding the week off.

"They just said to enjoy it," Clapp said. "Obviously I've been inactive for all the games, so I made sure I got my workouts in this week. I went in the facility, did some workouts, made sure I'm staying active this week, and still get some good rest."

Clapp made the comments during his appearance on the Saints Players Show Thursday night on WWL Radio. Clapp also talked about his transition from  college ball at LSU to the pro game and the help he's gotten from Saints offensive line coach Dan Roushar.

"He's a great coach," Clapp said. "He brings a different style of run-game than I'm used to, which I've actually enjoyed a lot. He's a big wide zone guy. He loves that. He learned from Alex Gibbs, who is a legend in the coaching world. So having those two guys there to help you out and develop you has been a big help for me."

Clapp and the Saints return to action Sunday, October 21, against the Baltimore Ravens. You can hear the full audio of Clapp's appearance on the Saints Players Show by clicking the podcast link.
