Are the Knicks all in on Anthony Davis?

The Pelicans odds off getting the top pick in the NBA draft may be even greater than expected.  Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic reports that the New York Knicks would want to turn the No. 1 overall pick in a trade package for Pelicans star Anthony Davis.

Jake Madison of the Locked on Pelicans podcast dropped by Sports Talk with Deuce & Kristian to talk a little more about the possibility of AD heading to the Big Apple.

"These two teams did speak before the NBA trade deadline, potentially centered around an Anthony Davis for Kristaps Porzingis swap," said Madison. "Those talks fell apart. But, the Knicks know they want to bring some star power in to energize their fan base, energize their franchise which hasn't been relevant for 20 years. they have big eyes in free agency potentially going after guys like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Attracting them to New York can be difficult when you haven't won anything for two decades. But, if you have Anthony Davis already in place by the time free agency opens, getting those other stars to come play at Madison Garden becomes a whole lot easier. That's why I think you'll see immediate phones calls between the two teams should the Knicks land the #1 overall selection."
