The Notre Dame Pioneers defeated the Catholic-New Iberia Panthers 42-21 to win the Division III high school football state championship.

The Pioneers avenged last year's defeat in this same game to the Panthers, a contest they lost 33-16.   This year, it was Notre Dame crusing for most of the night en route to a state title.  The Panthers opened the game with an 83 yard touchdown run by quarterback Trey Amos on the first play of the game, but it was all Pioneers after that.  Notre Dame outscored Catholic-New Iberia 42-14 the rest of the game.

Notre Dame caps off an undefeated season with their victory in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
