Unbelievable: NFL Network trashes Drew Brees as he sets passing record

This is how they celebrate this moment, this man?

While most observers were paying homage to one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time tonight, the NFL Network decided to take a somewhat unconventional, and compeltely infuriating, detour.

During the network's coverage after Drew Brees broke Peyton Manning's career passing yardage record, the league's in-house broadcast team consisting of former players Maurice Jones-Drew, James Jones, and others decided to spend what normally would be a moment of recognition and honor by, instead, saying Brees was, "doing nothing spectacular," and comment that, "he isn't a 'wow' factor type of player."

Check out the video in the embedded Tweet.  Prepare to be infuriated.

On a night when most of the football world spent celebrating one of the unexpectedly-great careers in American sports history, this crew of nimwits decided to spend their precious post-record moments by trashing one of the greatest men to ever play this great sport.

Jones-Drew, Jones and everybody else on that set should issue public apologies if they aren't fired by the NFL Network first.  Brees deserved much better than this from the supposed broadcast arm of his employer.
