Recruiting the New Orleans area has long been a top priority for the LSU football program.  That emphasis has continued during coach Ed Orgeron's tenure with the Tigers, as the Crescent City continues to produce top-level talent year after year.

The coach that Orgeron leans on the most for New Orleans recruiting is Mickey Joseph, a West Bank native who grew up in Marrero.  Joseph, who serves as LSU's receivers coach, joined the LSU Coaches Caravan on WWL Radio on Monday night and talked about the importance of recruiting this football hotbed, plus the changes in store for the Tigers offense this season.

"When Coach O hired me (he said) put a gate around New Orleans and make sure we keep them home, and that's what we're trying to do every year."

Watch Joseph's conversation with Bobby Hebert, Deuce McAllister, and Kristian Garic on WWL Radio in the video below.
