Pelican's guard Jrue Holiday was honored as one of the NBA's best defensive players for the second consecutive season.

Holiday was named to the NBA's All-Defensive second team, one year after being named to the first team.  He was the third ranked guard, accumulating 90 points from voters, behind Marcus Smart of Boston (145 points) and Eric Bledsoe of Milwaukee (100 points).

As pointed out by Scott Kushner of The Advocate, Holiday is the only player to receive All-Defensive honors this decade while playing for a team with a losing record.

It was yet another accolade for the 28-year old out of UCLA.  Holiday was chosen as the most underrated player in the NBA earlier this year in an anonymous survey of players conducted by The Athletic.
