John Curtis Patriots

Prep Preview: Holy Cross vs. John Curtis

By Tony D'Amico, color analyst for the WWL Prep Game of the Week

This week’s game of the week once again is a Catholic League battle as the John Curtis Patriots try to continue their undefeated district record as they take on the Holy Cross Tigers at Tad Gormley Stadium.

The Patriots come into this game off of a hard fought victory against St. Augustine Purple Knights 31-22.  With a swarming defense and Quarterback Collin Guggenheim’s 3 touchdowns, 2 by the rush and 1 passing the Patriots continue their quest for a district crown.

The Holy Cross Tigers were not so lucky as they took it on the chin with their first district loss to the Brother Martin Crusaders 26-23.  Playing without Running Back Landen Bates who was out with an injury the Tigers could not corral the Crusaders. The Tigers  offense and defense will be challenged this week against the Patriots as this will be a huge test for the Tigers.

Join us live this Friday night beginning at 7:00PM on WWL 105.3 (HD2) or WWL.Com Listen Live (HD2) with Brad “The Esquire” Luminas handling the play by play and myself Tony “The Ironman” D’Amico  with the color commentary.  This is another one of those Catholic League games that should be a knock down drag out affair all night long.
