In a season full of rough weekends, you can tack on another one for the Pelicans.

The Birds dropped both games of a home-and-home to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Of OKC's eight wins on the season, three have come from victimizing the Pelicans.

In both games, the Pelicans held leads late but couldn't slam the door.

Credit the steady hand of former New Orleans All-Star Chris Paul with helping put down the Pels.

When paired with last Wednesday's loss to Anthony Davis and the Lakers, that's three straight defeats at the hands of players formerly known as the face of the Pelicans franchise.

It wasn't all bad though. The Pelicans did finally get point guard Lonzo Ball back into the starting lineup.

The Pels also showed a tenacious sticktoitiveness in overcoming rough stretches to work their way back into the game. But they must find a way to get past their growing pains when it comes to closing out opponents they've got on the ropes.

The Pelicans have the next two nights off. They welcome the sensational Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks into the Smoothie King Center Wednesday night.
