The Pelicans have a number of decisions to make this summer, ranging from easy (who to take with the #1 draft choice) to considerably more difficult (where to ship Anthony Davis when he officially turns down his max contract offer). Now, it seems the team's executive vice president of basketball operations won't be making those big decisions alone.

According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, David Griffin has chosen the man who will serve as the team's new general manager.

Langdon is a former basketball star in his own right. He was a first-round pick in the NBA Draft out of Duke who spent three seasons in the Association with the Cleveland Cavaliers before continuing his professional basketball career abroad until 2011.

Langdon has spent the last three seasons serving as assistant general manager for the Brooklyn Nets, helping the team climb from dead last in the Eastern Conference to a playoff berth this past season.
