Much like Week 1, the second week of the season has just one true top 10 showdown on the docket.  Lafayette will be the place to be as the city's most-storied prep program will look to rebound from an underwhelming debut one week ago.

The Acadiana Wreckin' Rams are 1-0; but a sloppy, mishap-ridden performance in their season-opening win left the Ram faithful feeling a bit unsatisfied. Acadiana outgained Kaplan last week by more than 100 yards, but found putting points on the board to be incredibly challenging, especially after intermission as they managed just three points in the second half.

Those offensive struggles allowed Kaplan to creep back into the contest but in the end, Acadiana held on for a 17-12 victory, doing just enough to stand pat at #5 in the 5A poll this week. They'll need a stronger performance in Week 2 though if they hope to remain unbeaten.

The Ruston Bearcats head into Lafayette coming off of a huge opening week win. Last week, they paid a visit to their oldest rival, the Neville Tigers, and handed them a loss they won't soon forget.  The Bearcats scored on their first three drives of the game, racking up all the points they would need to put an end to Neville's 50-game home winning streak, a stretch that began way back in 2010. It also marked their first time topping the Tigers in their last seven tries.

At 1-0, Ruston cracks the top 10 this week in 5A at #10. Now they get to hit the road and test their mettle against a perennial championship contender.

And THAT'S what you need to know.
