It was just three days ago that Pelicans Coach Alvin Gentry opined that his team needed Jrue Holiday to create his own offense more and stop being so generous with the basketball, and he believed he would.

"He's going through a tough time right now," Gentry said Tuesday. "I'm not worried about Jrue. He will find his way. He's done it every year that I've been here... He's feeling right now that he needs to get everybody involved."

"I just need him to be Jrue. We'll get it figured out, the other things."

Well Gentry got his wish last night as Holiday came alive and gave the Clippers more than they could handle.

Holiday went off to the tune of 36 points, including shooting 5 for 6 from beyond the arc, and he led a Pelicans team without both Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball to an upset win at home over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Final score: 132-127, pushing the Pelicans' record to 3-8.

So could this win jump start their first streak of the season? We won't have to wait long to find out. The Pelicans have two games this weekend, traveling to Miami tomorrow night to face the Heat, then returning home to battle Golden State on Sunday.
