The Saints resume a budding rivalry today with the Rams in Los Angeles.

We all know the history here, right? No need to re-hash.  No need to mention the yellow flag in the room.  The Saints and Rams might as well be in the same division.

The two teams will face off for the fourth time in the last three seasons.

Here are five keys to the game:

1.  Turnovers

It’s cliché, but the Saints must win the turnover battle. On the road, the Saints have to find a way to force a turnover, and protect the football. The Rams lead the league in points off takeaways.

2. Pressure! Pressure and more Pressure!

The Saints defense turned in six sacks in last week's win against Houston. The Rams have a better offensive line than the Texans, however, the Saints have to find a way to get pressure on quarterback Jared Goff.

3. Stop the run!

The Black & Gold defense was gashed by the Texans last week. Rams running back Todd Gurley is probably licking his chops to get a crack at the Saints leaky run defense.  Last year, New Orleans was No. 2 in the league against the run.

4.  Protect Drew!

The Saints offensive line has to keep QB Drew Brees clean.  The Rams have a better than average pass rush, and will likely want to rush four defensive players in order to play coverage against the Saints vaunted passing attack.

5.  Can Will Lutz deliver again?

The Rams are favored by two points.  This might come down to the right leg of Lutz once again.  To beat the Rams, the Saints have to win on special teams.  Don’t be surprised if you see a trick play in this phase of the game.
