The New Orleans Saints intend to waive cornerback Ken Crawley, a source confirmed Tuesday.

The team was looking for a trade partner to move the former starter, but with no likely suitors, plans to release him. The Saints needed to make a roster move following the reinstatement of cornerback PJ Williams. Williams was reinstated this week after serving a two-game suspension related to an offseason DUI.

Crawley, who started 23 games for the Saints since 2016, appeared in just one game this season. Meanwhile, the Saints have received strong play from starting cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore and Eli Apple and have seen the emergence of rookie defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson who's played very well as the team's nickelback during Williams' suspension.
