Saints Injury Report: Lattimore & Crawley limited, Armstead out

The injury bug has taken a big bite out of the Saints in recent weeks, but their is some good news on defense and some not so good news on offense.  CB's Ken Crawley (abdomen) and Marshon Lattimore (ankle) were limited in practice today.  Both players missed last week's game against the Rams. "I'm optimistic they're going to play this week against the Panthers. The Saints need those guys out there this week.  It's all hands on deck for this game," said the Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert.

The offensive line might be without left tackle Terron Armstead (thigh/shoulder) who missed practice today.  Andrus Peat would likely fill in at left tackle if Armstead can't play. "This is something the team has dealt with seemingly all season long. I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints rest Armstead this week even though it's a big game because they play 2 games in 10 days starting this week against the Panthers, and a quick turnaround Thursday night against the Falcons," explained Saints color analyst Deuce McAllister.

Turnovers are a big topic of conversation at Saints camp.  The defense forced a turnover in five straight games during the teams eight game winning streak and the well has dried up a little bit.  P.J Williams forced an interception last week in a loss to the Rams "We have to get back to forcing turnovers, we were hot out the gate with forcing those takeaways, but have gotten away from it a little bit.  We have to find a way to get back to the sack fumbles, and the interceptions" said Safety Kenny Vaccaro.  The Saints are plus three in the takeaway/giveaway ratio this season.  This week's game against the Panthers will prove to be a significant test in time of posession.  The Panthers lead the league in time of posession this season and the offensive snaps might be limited this Sunday so forcing a couple of turnovers will go a long way in making the game a little longer against Carolina.
