LSU dazzled at the SEC tournament, comes up short in winning it all, but really improved their NCAA tournament resume’.

The Tigers notched wins against #1 Florida, #3 Arkansas, along with South Carolina and Mississippi State.  All four teams should be in the NCAA tournament.  LSU came into the SEC tournament as a bubble team, after a strong showing they're going to qualify for the field of 64.

LSU lost the SEC championship game 9-1 to Ole Miss, ending a run that no one saw coming for an LSU team that had been up and down all season.

So what's next for the Tigers?  Sit and wait!  The top 16 seeds will be released tonight by the NCAA.  LSU won't be in the top 16, but we can start to figure out where the Tigers could play next weekend in the regional.  The top 8 national seeds will host the Regional and Super Regional.  The bottom 8 seeds out of 16 are assured of hosting at least a regional round.

I expect the Tigers to be a No. 2 seed in a regional.  LSU could end up at a few different regional locations.  We'll get a better idea later tonight when the top 16 seeds are released.  Right now the possibilities range from traveling out west to Stanford or Oregon State, or to UCONN on the east coast.

The bottom line is this, LSU gave their fans plenty of lasting memories at the SEC tournament.  Pleasantly surprising fans, and members of the media with their improbable run in the tournament.  The legend of Todd Peterson was born.  The rally fog was a real thing and the young LSU Tigers baseball team grew up right before our eyes.

With momentum on their side, and more importantly, confidence after a successful week in Hoover, Alabama...I can promise you whoever hosts them in a regional will not be happy to see LSU coming to their campus.  The Tigers surprised and impressed.  This could be a really fun regional, maybe because these Tigers have a ton of grit.   They're not the best team LSU has put on the field, but they're fun to watch. The best thing that came out of this week for the Tigers?  They've experienced a true big game feel...and so has the Tiger Nation.
