But the Saints have other offensive line issues

For the first time this season the Saints could have their best offensive lineman back on the field on Sunday when the black and gold host the Detroit Lions.  Offensive Tackle Terron Armstead (shoulder) has been sidelined since mini camp due to a torn ligament in his shoulder that required surgery.  Armstead was listed as questionable on the final injury report of the week.  However, one problem looks like it is almost solved, and the offensive line could be somewhat healthy.  Think again! Left Guard Andrus Peat (hip) showed up on the injury report yesterday, and is also listed as questionable for Sunday.  "This is where it get's complicated, because if Armstead can't go, and Peat can't go what will the Saints do at Left Tackle? The left side of the line could be a mix and match situation this Sunday," explained Saints all time leading rusher Deuce McAllister.

The team signed veteran journeymen Bryce Harris in case Peat or Armstead can't play this week.  Coach Sean Payton wouldn't say much about the progress Armstead has made working his way back from Injury “He’s making progress. (He’s) Hanging in there and doing well. It’s obviously a significant injury he’s recovering from," Payton said today in his final press conference of the week. WR Willie Snead is also listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.  Snead was suspended for the first three games before hurting his hamstring in week four.

I never would have thought about picking the Saints to win this game, given what I saw in the first two weeks of the season. However, I think there is a silent confidence with the Saints defense.  Sometimes in the NFL it's not always who you play but when you play them.  The Lions are hobbled at a few key spots. The Saints are trying to regain their home field advantage, and the dome should have some energy on Sunday. I'm picking the Saints in a high scoring game, the Lions have forced a ton of turnovers this year through five games.  The Saints however haven't turned the ball over at all this season. What gives on Sunday? The Saints get to 3-2, with a 34-30 win over Detroit.
