In typical fashion, Bobby Hebert jumped all over a proposed idea from a fan during Wednesday’s Sports Talk. The fan suggested the Saints to trade for Houston Texans pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney.

“Hell yeah” Hebert shouted. “I’m not worried about 2020. Clowney opposite of Cam Jordan would be very successful.”

The Texans are reportedly looking to move Clowney and forgo their chance to pick up the fifth-year option or sign him to a long-term lucrative deal next spring.

Clowney had 9.5 sacks a year ago and has improved his sack total since entering the league in 2014.  But what about second year man Marcus Davenport?  Hebert doesn’t care.

“I’m not against Marcus Davenport,” Hebert explained. “I don’t know how he’s going to develop. He’s a part of the future and the now. I’m worried about winning in 2019.”

For those that might push back on the “Cajun Cannon” about the idea of trading for Clowney as a pie and the sky silly idea, he fired back.

“You cannot tell me, the Saints would not be better with Clowney opposite Cam Jordan,” Hebert said.

The Saints would be better, and in fact down-right scary to opposing offenses. While the trade unlikely to happen, a point which Hebert agreed with, the idea of Clowney in a Saints uniform is very intriguing.
