Finally! We’ll get to see Drew Brees Saturday night in the New Orleans Saints’ third preseason game against the New York Jets.

Coach Sean Payton delivered the delightful news and “The Cajun Cannon” Bobby Hebert is fired up.

“This is the closest you’re going to get to a regular season game,”  Hebert said. “I’m interested to see our defense going against Jets quarterback Sam Darnold.  This is a good measuring stick for the entire team.”

Drew Brees plays with the ones, along with Pro Bowl defensive end Cam Jordan and offensive lineman Terron Armstead.

Saints radio color analyst Deuce McAllister said some strategy will be employed in this game.

“They will game plan a little bit for this game,” McAllister said. “So you have that element added to this game.”

As for Wednesday’s practice,  Hebert walked away with the following observations:

“Trey Hendrickson had back-to-back sacks today.  Alvin Kamara, man… he’s so good in space.  He broke a nice long run and was in and out of the hole so fast and into the second level of the defense.”
