The Good, Bad, Ugly from the Saints win over the Falcons

Wow!  The Saints continue to stack up the wins! Now the Black & Gold winning streak stands at 10 straight, after beating the Falcons 31-17 and sweeping the Dirty Birds for the year.  The Saints dominated once again with an explosive offense and opportunistic “bend but don’t break” defensive effort.

Good:  This is more than good. The Saints forced 4 turnovers and sacked Falcons QB Matt Ryan 5 times.  Sure, the Black & Gold defense gave up some big plays, but when it mattered, the Saints defense got off the field on third down, and forced some mistakes from the Falcons offense.   I’m going to go for another “good” on the offensive side of the football.  All four players, who caught touchdown passes from Drew Brees, were un-drafted players.

Bad:  The Falcons defense is a hot mess! All four of Drew Brees’ touchdown passes looked way too easy.  The Falcons defense turned Saints receivers loose all over the field in the loss.  Yea, they’re banged up l, but that Atlanta defense is bad; there’s no other way to say it.

Ugly:  The Falcons rushing attack! Atlanta rushed for 26 yards on 16 attempts. Some of that is attributed to trailing by double digits for most of the game.  But QB Matt Ryan led the Falcons in rushing with 2 attempts for 16 yards; all you can say is the offensive line for the Falcons is ugly.  When Matt Ryan wasn’t being dumped for a sack, he had Saints defenders smacking him or draped all over him, while making a throw.

The Saints are now 10 and 1, and have forced 9 turnovers in their last 12 quarters of play.  It’s starting to feel like 2009 here in New Orleans.

WHO DAT say dey gonna beat dem Saints?
