Both signal callers for Louisiana’s celebrated football teams share one thing in common.  Saints Super Bowl champion Drew Brees and LSU’s Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow both wear the No. 9.  Brees told me years ago his choice was made as a salute to former Major League Baseball super star Ted Williams.  Burrow wears the number nine in honor of Brees.

Burrow has said openly how he grew up watching and idolizing Drew Brees, when he was playing football as a kid.  Now on the precipice of a national championship Burrow will get to hang out with his idol.  “I’m gonna have a chance to see him before the game.  I’m looking forward to that,” said Brees.  Burrow’s admiration is reciprocated by the future Pro Football Hall of Famer, “I’ve heard a lot of great things.  I admire all the things he’s been able to do and position that team to make a run at it,” the All-Pro QB added.

The entire Brees family will be on hand Monday night in the Mercedes Benz Superdome rooting for LSU. “We’re pumped” acknowledged Drew.  The LSU Tigers are shooting for their fourth College Football National Championship in program history Monday night against Clemson (the other Tigers).
