Final Saints Mock Drafts from Bobby, Deuce & all of our sports team

What do the Saints do with Pick #27?

April 25, 2018 - 10:15 pm

What will the New Orleans Saints do with Pick #27 in the 1st round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night?  The entire WWL Radio sports team weighs in with their final mock draft.

Bobby Hebert - Dallas Goedert, TE, North Dakota State

Deuce McAllister - Sam Hubbard, DE, Ohio State

Mike Detillier - Harold Landry, DE/OLB

Kristian Garic -  TRADE: The Saints rarely entertain the idea of moving back in the first round. If anything they like doing the opposite and moving up.  This year could finally reverse that trend.  The Saints have only two picks in the first three rounds. I'd like to see the Saints trade out of round one and pick up two picks, perhaps a 2nd rounder and additional third rounder.

Seth Dunlap - TRADE: This of course only happens if guys like CB Josh Jackson, LB/DE Harold Landry, and DT Vita Vea aren't there - players who the Saints likely have with solid 1st round draft grades still available to select.  If they are there, I'd have the Saints taking one of them.  However, I'll spice it up and say those players have already been taken and the Saints make a trade back, specifically with the Indianapolis Colts for the fifth pick (#37 overall) in the 2nd round.  The Colts could be looking to move in front of the Steelers, Jaguars, and Patriots, all who pick directly after #27.  The Saints move back and aquire more draft assets -- a 2nd and 3rd rounder from the Colts.

Steve Geller - Rashaan Evans, LB, Alabama

Mark Menard - Dallas Goedert, TE, North Dakota State
