Bama does it again!  The Iron Bowl is going to be huge.  UGA got humbled, but still has everything in front of them.  The Missouri Tigers are the hottest team in the SEC behind only Alabama.  And it looks like five…count’em FIVE…SEC schools are going to need a new head coach.  Here are this week’s SEC Rankings:

  1. Alabama – The Tide always wins games like they did last week against Mississippi State.  Now Nick and his staff have two full weeks to get ready for another big Iron Bowl.   Last week Bama beat Mississippi State 31-24/ this week vs Mercer.
  2. Auburn – The Tigers will win the SEC and land in the playoffs.  IF they beat Alabama and Georgia again in three weeks.  IF I say!  Last week Auburn beat Georgia 40-17/ this week vs UL Monroe.
  3. Georgia – Man, is UGA capable of getting beat like that again?  Well…yes.  But the question remains will it be Bama or another Auburn beat down of the Bulldogs?  Last week the Bulldogs lost to Auburn 17-40/ this week vs Kentucky.
  4. Mississippi State – Oh so close, but Devonta Smith’s late 26 yard TD grab sealed yet another Tide win over State.  Last week the Bulldogs lost to Alabama 24-31 / this week vs Alabama.
  5. LSU – The Tigers just need to win out and have Alabama help out in the Iron Bowl, and the Bayou Bengal’s version of Tigers would be 6-2 in SEC play and finish as the 3rd best team in the league. That’s not too bad at all!  Last week LSU beat Arkansas 33-10/ this week @ Tennessee.
  6. South Carolina – It has been a very good season for the Gamecocks so far and with a win over the rival Clemson Tigers in two weeks, I’d even say it would be a GREAT season.  Last week the Gamecocks beat Florida 28-20/ this week vs Wofford.
  7. Missouri – By far the worst team in the entire SEC the first five weeks of the season is now the 2nd hottest.  Only Bama (10 straight wins) leads the Tigers in their current win streak.  And now they have a solid chance to finish up at 7-5, and a nice bowl would be amazing for the job coach Barry Odom has done since early October.  Last week Missouri beat Tennessee 50-17/ this week @ Vanderbilt.

The rest of the league is pretty much even.

Texas A&M – It’s only a matter of time before a new era in A&M football takes place.  Kevin Sumlin is on his way out for sure!

Florida – Scott Frost is the hot name being tossed around as the next Gators coach.  Whomever it is better be ready to win and win big!

Kentucky – The Wildcats are in good position to land in one of their best bowl berths in over a decade.  But a win over the UGA Dogs would be even bigger than that bowl berth!

Ole Miss – Another one of five SEC teams looking for a new head coach.  Nothing would make the turkey and giblet gravy go down smoother than a win over those folks on the other side of the Magnolia State.
Tennessee – Can interim Coach Brady Hoke guide the Vols to a bowl berth?  If they win their last two…yes.  Oh yes…and good luck with that one!
Arkansas - Could the Hogs be the 5th SEC program searching for a new HC?  I think so.
Vanderbilt – The Doors must win their last two to be in a bowl.  But a win over Vols the last week of the season would prove to be huge for Coach Derrick Mason and his already solid recruiting class for 2018.
