What is the best Italian restaurant in or around New Orleans, and what is the best dish on the menu?  That's what we wanted to know this week on What to Eat Tuesday during the Early Edition of WWL First News.

In this great food town; Italian is plentiful, and the offerings are mouth-watering.

Last week we learned of food that would make you want to eat the bowl or slap your grandmother.  This week, listeners shared suggestions of dishes that is worth walking on broken glass to get and that would make you slap the Pope.

After digesting scores of texts sent in to 870870, here is what I have concluded.

Vincent's (Uptown and Metairie), Sal and Judy's (Lacomb), Rocky and Carlo's (Chalmette), Bosco's (Mandeville)

Del Porto's in Covington stacked King Cake with bacon between the layers will make you slap the Pope
Vincent's! Corn and crab bisque in a bread bowl is worth walking over broken glass for
