You just can't make this stuff up.

Police in Florida were called after a fight over a fart turned very ugly.

Cops say it started when a woman in line at the check out farted.

They say another customer was not happy with the passing gas and confronted the woman for the allegedly loud fart.

Investigators determined that she did not take kindly to the criticism of her flatulence, and took out a knife... threatening to stab the man.

In fact, they say, she threatened to gut him.

As of this morning Shanetta Yvette Wilson was in jail on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill

Her bond was set at $2,500.

Everything about this story stinks.

Generally speaking, it is difficult to control the volume of the release of gas.  She may have tried to avoid it, and failed.  I don't know.  What I do know is that common courtesy says that if someone does pass gas in line at a story, you probably should not criticize or ostracize that person.  Does that make it okay for here to pull out a knife and threaten the man... absolutely not!

So I am putting both the gassy woman and the man who made fun of her into the "What is WRONG with People!?!" file.

Here is the AP story that got us talkin about this one...

DANIA BEACH, Fla. (AP) _ First, she was accused of cutting the cheese. Now, a woman stands accused of threatening to cut the man who accused her of cutting the cheese. Police in Dania Beach, Florida, say the woman, 37-year-old Shanetta Yvette Wilson, passed gas while waiting in line at a Dollar General store on Sunday. That upset a nearby customer, who accused her of ``farting loudly.'' And that started an argument. Police say Wilson pulled a small folding knife out her purse and told the victim she was going to ``gut'' him. She's charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. For the knife.
