Bobby Hebert is fired up over LSU hiring Bo Pelini to be the Tigers new defensive coordinator. He remembers fondly what the Bayou Bengals defense was like from 2005-07, when Pelini held the same position helping the school win a national title before leaving to become head coach at Nebraska.

“How can you not like Bo Pelini when you look at his track record?” questioned the Cajun Cannon. “Look what Bo Pelini did in 05, 06, and 07. LSU had a top 10 defense, if not top five, in a number of categories. So look at the production.”

At Nebraska, Pelini had three nine-win seasons and won 10 games in 2012, but only coached the Cornhuskers for four years. He was fired after the 2014 campaign and then became head coach at Youngstown State.  He record their past 5 seasons is 33-28. Now, he comes back to the SEC to work with some of the nation’s top recruits.

“To me if you are anti Bo Pelini, you haven't done enough homework and maybe you’re too soft,” says Hebert. “Maybe you’re too soft to be an LSU Tiger.”
