Wil Lutz drilled a 58-yard field goal as time expired to send the Saints to victory in their season opener.

Lutz' kick came after a big second half led the Saints to a 30- 28 win against the Houston Texans in the regular season opener.

The score gave the Saints their first lead of the game, 24-21, when quarterback Drew Brees rolled to his right and found receiver Tre’Quan Smith for a 14-yard touchdown to start the fourth quarter.   but the momentum had already swayed New Orleans’ direction since the start of the second half.

That big second half led the Saints to a 30- 21 win against the Houston Texans in the regular season opener.

After the trailing 14-3 heading into halftime, the Saints used a touchdown run from Latavious Murray, and a touchdown reception from Taysom Hill to pull within a score heading into the final quarter.

The Saints took the lead thanks to Brees’ second touchdown pass of the night. The score was setup by a Marcus Williams interception late in the third.

The Saints then drove 49 yards in four plays.
