Last week, former New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma said on ESPN that he thought Florida’s defense would make LSU quarterback Joe Burrow look like a “game manager.”

Burrow went on to have a terrific game against Florida’s highly-ranked defensive unit, which came in to last Saturday’s matchup leading the SEC in sacks and turnovers.

The senior, who’s become a Heisman trophy candidate this year, passed for 293 yards and three touchdowns in LSU’s 42-28 win against the Gators, and wasn’t sacked.

LSU football’s official Twitter account posted a photo of Burrow following the performance with the caption: “Didn't look like much of a "Game Manager””

The post was a subtle dig at the former NFL standout.

Burrow, not referencing any particular comments, said he’s not paying too much attention to what the national college football pundits are saying about his play, good or bad. He instead is following head coach Ed Orgeron’s mantra: “Block out the noise.”

“I’m focused about getting better everyday on what we feel we can get better at inside our building,” Burrow said Monday.

Burrow and the Tigers face another SEC opponent Saturday at 2:30 p.m. as they head to Starkville fo face the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
