Joe Burrow’s dominant season continued as he broke more records in LSU’s 36-13 win against Mississippi State.

The Tigers moved to 7-0 on the season as Burrow broke the school record for passing touchdowns in a season.

Burrow threw four touchdown passes against the Bulldogs putting his total at 29 for the season, one more that JaMarcus Russell’s record 28 in 2006 and Matt Mauck’s 28 in 2003.

The senior quarterback also has accounted for 31 total touchdowns this season which eclipses the Russell and Mauck’s record of 29 in those same seasons.

Burrow passed for 327 yards Saturday afternoon giving him his seventh career 300-yard game. That tied Rohan Davey’s record of seven career 300-yard passing games.

LSU’s offense was sluggish to start Saturday’s matchup and held just a 3-0 nothing lead at the end of the first quarter. It was just the second time this season the Tigers failed to score a touchdown in the opening quarter as Texas kept LSU out of the endzone in the opening frame of that game.

Mid way threw the second, LSU got rolling thanks to a 60-yard touchdown pass from Burrow to Racey McMath. Burrow went on to connect with Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase and Derrick Dillon while the Tigers defense. Forced three turnovers including interceptions by Kristian Fulton and JaCoby Stevens.

The Tigers return to Baton Rouge next weekend to face Auburn at 2:30 p.m.
