Drew Brees declined to comment on whether Sunday’s 26-20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings would his last game with the New Orleans Saints.

“I’m not making any comments on that, other than I’ve told you guys this over the last couple of years, I’ve always just taken it one year at a time and kind of reevaluate each offseason and find the things I want to get better at and move one,” Brees said.

The NFL’s All-Time leading passer just completed the 19th season of his NFL career, one that saw him set the league record for touchdown passes and throw for nearly 3,000 yards and 27 touchdowns despite missing five games with an injured right thumb.

The Saints finished the regular season 13-3 and averaged 38 points per game over their final three contests leading many to believe New Orleans was poised for a deep postseason run. Instead, Brees and his teammates were left disappointed after a third straight disheartening playoff exit

“You invest so much into it,” Brees said. “You understand that these opportunities are few, so yes it’s disappointing. When you’re not the one holding up the trophy at the end of the year it disappointing.”
